Underdocks is a place to have fish in a modern way, like rolls, taco, in a bowl, or just with Chips. They have a few different kinds of fish available (even lobster!) and you can choose what you would like to have it. We decided to order a few different ones to share, so we can all try a bit more.
Out of all the dishes that we ordered, we like the Pulled Lax Roll the most. The bread roll is very soft, together with the marinated wild salmon and their homemade BBQ sauce – they have made a really great combination and it tasted absolutely delicious!
We were expecting the Crunchy Backfisch & Chips just like a normal Fish & Chips, but the batter they use to fry the fish is quite different. The backfisch is made from Coalfish fillets, it tasted good but we don’t find it very special. The Sardine Taco is our least favourite. We just find the combination of Sardine and Taco a bit weird, perhaps it will be better if we have ordered it with a roll or just with chips. By the way, if you think about ordering the roasted garlic aioli, the garlic taste REALLY strong! (We like garlic, so we are happy with it, but just in case…)
In our opinion, the dishes taste good because of the marinade they use for the fish. The portion is a bit small for the price that they charge. The staff is very friendly and nice. We were there on a weekday evening and there was a lot of tables available. We have no difficulties to get a table at all. Overall they have tasty fish menus, not a lot of different options, but if you like to eat fish, you should definitely give it a try!
