Recently we found ourselves wanted to visit and try a new pizza place in Hamburg. So while we’ve been searching, we received a recommendation from an Italian friend of ours claiming this one to be one of the best pizza places in Hamburg.
Without any further ado, we accepted the “challenge” and visited Il Forno during a late evening for dinner. First impression? The place looks very cozy, kinda like a family like business. The pizza? Not only it looked amazing but was very tasty as well. Apparently it is cooked in a stone oven from Italy!
We order a Calabrian Dream and Mr.Brown which both taste delicious, especially the crust. Probably that’s one of huge advantages of making pizza in a stone oven. The flavor of tomato sauce is just about right, and the toppings tasted very fresh!
Frankly speaking, it was definitely worth the 30 minutes drive over to Winterhude. No matter if you happen to live in the neighborhood or not, if you haven’t visited Il Forno yet, you better do so.
Food we ordered:
- Calabrian Dream
- Mr. Brown
