YamYam Berlin

YamYam Berlin

It was Saturday afternoon and we found ourselves walking around – exploring “downtown” Berlin when “typically” as usual came to the point of being hungry and thinking where we could have some lunch.

For our good fortune, we were around Rosa-Luxemburg Platz. Tip to remember: there are quite a few good Asian restaurants around there!

Unfortunately for us, we couldn’t make up our minds which restaurants to visit (the most silly thing ever). So in order to simplify things, and also keep it fair for both of us, we decided to get at the first place where we could find a table to seat down (kinda like flipping a coin).

In the end, we found a table to seat at YamYam Berlin. We heard some good words from some friends for YamYam, like being a very good Korean restaurant, having good food, etc..

So we sat down, took the speisekarte and as we couldn’t make up our minds (AGAIN) of what to choose, we ended up ordering quite a few dishes. Started from some small dishes like kimchi pancake, gimbap and moved over to the main dishes such as the Zekuk bokum and Zepzeh dobbap.

Having visited several different Korean restaurants in the past and having in mind our friends comments for it, the bar was set kinda pretty high.  We got all the dishes almost at the same time and got to admit that all were great. Especially the kimchi pancake, that we believe was one of the main “highlights” So if you ever go there and you like kimchi, give it a try.

The gimbap wasn’t something extremely special, rather a classic gimbap which we could do without.  On the other hand, the Zejuk bokum and Zapzeh dobbab were very tasty!

So, will we ever go back there again? Definitely, yes!

Food we ordered:

  • Kimchi pancake
  • Zejuk bokum (pork stir-fry with spicy sauce)
  • Zapzeh dobbab (korean fried glass noodles with vegetables)
  • Classic gimbap
  • Citron Iced Tea
  • Matcha Iced Latte
