Food we ordered:
- Poppy Truffle
- Disco Inferno
Mamida Pizza in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg has given us a pizza experience beyond the ordinary! We’d walked past this spot countless times, but fate (and a full house at another pizzeria) led us to their door – and we’re so glad it did! Mamida Pizza offers a unique and unforgettable pizza experience that will have you rethinking everything you thought you knew about this classic dish.
The Crust is the Star
Forget the standard pizza dough – Mamida Pizza throws tradition out the window with its innovative sourdough base. This isn’t your average bare crust. It boasts a delightful texture, slightly spongy with a satisfying chew. It’s so good, that you’ll find yourself devouring every last bite, crust and all (a true testament to the magic they’ve created).
Flavor Explosions: Disco Inferno & Poppy Truffle
We opted for two pizzas to truly experience Mamida’s range, and we weren’t disappointed. The “Disco Inferno” was a flavor party, while the “Poppy Truffle” offered a more subtle yet equally captivating taste experience. The Disco Inferno lived up to its name, offering a vibrant combination of toppings that danced on your palate.
The Poppy Truffle took a more sophisticated route. Zucchini, whipped ricotta cheese, truffle oil, and a sprinkle of poppy seeds came together in perfect harmony. Despite the milder flavor profile compared to the Disco Inferno, the combination of ingredients was nothing short of amazing.
A New Prenzlauer Berg Favorite
Mamida Pizza has officially taken the crown for our favorite pizza spot in Prenzlauer Berg (possibly all of Berlin!). The innovative sourdough crust, combined with their unique and delicious flavor combinations, makes for an unforgettable pizza experience. We wholeheartedly recommend checking them out, and don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and try something new!
