Daruma has really delicious Japanese food, from sushi to a wide ranges of Japanese cooked dishes. It feels like a small family owned restaurant, the staff there is very polite and friendly.
It seemed to us that the gyoza is homemade, and it tastes absolutely delicious! The sauce for the teriyaki is little bit sweet and runny, but it is amazing to go with rice. The teriyaki chicken also comes with a small salad, but you may have to order rice separately.
Sukiyaki is some beef cook in soup with tofu and onions. The beef has absorbed all the nice flavours from the soup and it tastes definitely amazing, we will also recommend to go with rice. As the Sukiyaki is a menu set, it also comes with a few small dishes, from what we tasted, it’s some egg rolls, spinach salad and pork. It also came with a Miso soup, and everything tastes fantastic!
The highlight of the meal is the Green Tea Ice-cream! It is so rich with green tea taste, but it’s also not too strong nor sweet. It’s one of the best Green Tea Ice-cream we had in Germany.
The quality of food in Daruma is great. The only downside is it is a bit overpriced. We were waiting for the bill for really long time and found out after 30-45mins waiting that we should go to the counter ourselves. Also remember to bring cash with you. They are still using a very traditional and old-fashioned credit card machine that won’t be applicable for most of the credit cards nowadays! Overall, we like the food there, but it’s not a place we will go day to day, maybe only for special occasions.
