This one wasn’t like a typical Saturday lunch. This one was a looong prolonged visit that we kept postponing for several weeks now.
So when this time we had the chance to choose where to go.. The decision was kinda easy, grabbed the keys, got the car and drove Rotherbaum to visit Doris Diner. Once we open the door and stepped in, we kinda felt that we were in a movie. Without exaggerating, the place looks like it’s made out of an old american movie or something.
Friendly atmosphere, nice bar, comfy seats and many tables next to the windows (for those of you who want to gaze at people passing outside while you are eating). We hadn’t made any reservations and luckily for us there were some available tables to seat. We managed to get a cozy table right next to the big curvy windows.
Shortly after we got seated, we got the menu and start thinking of what to order. At the beginning we thought about getting a couple of combo menus but in the end we chose a small variety of “everything”. A vegetarian combo, caesars salad, a bbq burger and as for drinks, we couldn’t have chosen anything else besides milkshakes!
The vegetarian combo was quite a nice surprise as it included onion rings, friend mushrooms, mozzarella sticks, home fries and a set of bbq & sour cream. The caesars salad wasn’t something special worth mentioning but on the other hand, the burger … that was great! Not to mention the milkshakes which ended up being double portions (awesome)!
Like all those were not enough, we had to think about dessert. So off the menu again to take a look at what’s available.. As a result of that, we ended up getting brownies with vanilla ice cream. What a great way to end a nice Saturday lunch!
Overall, it was a very good choice and we will definitely visit again in the future.
