Papaya Thai Cuisine

Papaya Thai Cuisine

For the last month we’ve been visiting several different Asian restaurants in Berlin such as Harapeco – Okonomiyaki and Sake Bar, YamYam Berlin and Green Tea Café MAMECHA. Seems like there is a patterns in favor of Japanese cuisine. We got to admit that it is one of our favorite Asian cuisine.

This week we decided to stay on script but do a spontaneous visit to the first Thai restaurant we could find around the neighborhood. So while we were walking around Boxhagener Platz, we stumbled upon Papaya.  First impressions about the place were good and thus we decided to stay and try it out.

We started with a couple of starters as we were a bit “hungry”. The spring rolls were great, however we couldn’t say the same for the fried wonton. They were very crispy that we felt we were eating chips but…. they were awesome!

As for the main dishes, we ordered stir-fry thick rice noodles with beef and fried rice with chicken. Both of them were tasty (nom nom) but if it was to pick up one for next time, that would definitely be the stir-fry thick rice noodles with beef! Seriously, if you happen to visit Papaya and you are into beef, try that dish out and if you want some drinks to have, you can consider Thai iced tea or coconut milk shake.

Overall, we think that we found a nice hidden Thai gem close to Boxhagener Platz. Will we ever go back there? If we happen to be in the area and are up for Thai we will for sure head over there without a second thought.

Food we ordered:

  • Spring Rolls
  • Fried Wonton
  • Stir-fry thick rice noodles with beef
  • Fried rice with chicken
  • Thai Iced Tea
  • Coconut Milk shake
